Chaos in Manchester City Centre: Police Hunt 200 Teens After Raucous Night of Violence
Mass Disturbance Erupts After Bar Party Shut Down
Police are hunting a gang of up to 200 youths who sparked disorder across Manchester city centre on Monday, July 25, 2023. Trouble began after a huge party at a bar in Deansgate Locks was forcibly closed amid fears over rowdy behaviour. The expelled crowd then spilled into the city streets, sparking fights and antisocial chaos.
Six Teens Arrested – More CCTV Images Released
Officers have already arrested six teenagers, aged 14 to 18, on suspicion of affray and violent disorder. Four were bailed while two remain in custody following dawn raids in South Manchester. Police have now released fresh CCTV images of others they want to identify and question over the incident.
Public Asked to Help Crack Down on Disorder
“We thank the public for helping us catch those arrested so far. We’re determined to clamp down on the violence that rocked Manchester City Centre,” said Inspector Glen Rees of GMP’s City Centre neighbourhood team.
