Blaze Breaks Out at Bexleyheath Care Home Hair Salon – Firefighters Rush to Rescue
Massive Fire Erupts on Woolwich Road
Chaos hit Bexleyheath as flames ripped through a hairdresser’s shop inside Park View Care Home on Woolwich Road. Eight fire engines and around 60 heroic firefighters battled the blaze, first reported at 11:26 a.m.
Multiple Rescues Amid Heavy Smoke
Before the brigade arrived, roughly 30 people evacuated the building. Fire crews in breathing apparatuses rescued four trapped individuals and escorted three more to safety through thick smoke.
“On the ground floor, there was heavy smoke logging. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued four people from the building and led three more to safety,” confirmed a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
Emergency Services Swarm the Scene
Firefighters from Sidcup, Eltham, Bexley, East Greenwich and neighbouring stations joined the fight. Police and paramedics also attended, providing critical support.
Road Closures and Bus Diversions
The blaze forced partial closure of Woolwich Road. The public is urged to avoid the area. Bus routes 301 and 401 are now diverted via Mayplace Road West, Erith Road and Long Lane as firefighters work to bring the fire under control.
At this stage, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
