Sex Beast Jailed for 15 Years Over 40-Year-Old Abuse Claims
A 77-year-old predator has been locked up for 15 years after a shocking sexual abuse saga spanning decades. Fred Livesley was convicted of assaulting two girls in the 1970s and early 1980s when they were under 14.
Victims Speak Out Decades After Crimes in Ashford
Livesley’s crimes came to light when the victims bravely reported the abuse to 123 resident was sentenced at court on Monday 31 July 2023. Along with 15 years inside, he faces an extra three years on licence.
Detective Calls for More Victims to Come Forward
“Fred Livesley was brought to justice more than 40 years after his despicable crimes,” said Detective Constable Antony White. “Despite the passage of time, and his failure to admit what he had done, we proved multiple sexual offences and he now faces a lengthy prison term.
“I hope this case encourages others who have been victims of sexual abuse to report it to the police. Perpetrators should face justice no matter how long ago the crimes occurred.”
