Seven Speedsters and Dozens More Caught Breaking the Law on Kent Roads
Kent cops have cracked down on dangerous drivers, issuing 100 Traffic Offence Reports in just three months. Among the offenders:
- 7 caught speeding
- 6 using mobile phones behind the wheel
- 24 not wearing seatbelts
- 10 uninsured drivers
Other run-ins with the law included running red lights, no MOT, and driving unsafe vehicles. One motorist was arrested for suspected driving while under the influence of drugs. In total, 10 vehicles were seized during these operations.
Kent Specials Take a Stand Against Road Danger
Special Constables in Kent’s East Division have been relentless in their fight to make roads safer. Their latest sting happened in Folkestone on May 28, 2022.
Kent Police is committed to reducing deaths and serious injuries on our roads. We in the Special Constabulary are passionate about supporting our regular colleagues in this vital work,” said Special Inspector James Johnston.
Keeping Kent’s Roads Safe: Zero Tolerance for Offenders
Inspector Johnston added, “Our focus is on tackling the offences that cause the worst crashes – speeding, drunk or drugged driving, not wearing seatbelts, and using mobiles while driving. We also spot other serious law breaches threatening road safety.”
“We want to remind all drivers they have a duty to keep themselves and others safe. Break the rules, and we will act.”
