Man Arrested After Violent Attack and Phone Theft in Nottingham

Police swooped late Monday night in Netherfield, Nottingham, after a woman was reportedly attacked and had her phone stolen.

Suspect Caught Red-Handed

At around 11.25pm on 19 December 2022, officers spotted a 56-year-old man leaving the scene carrying a suspicious bag. He was immediately stopped and detained.

Stolen Goods Haul Found in Search

Following the arrest, cops searched two homes and a van linked to the suspect. Inside the vehicle, they uncovered numerous bin bags stuffed with items thought to be stolen from local shops.

Police Praise Fast Action

Sergeant Mark Hore of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We respond quickly to all reports of violence and officers rapidly arrested a suspect when they were called to the scene of this incident.

“It was then a really good piece of police work to carry out detailed searches of two addresses and a vehicle belonging to the suspect.

“A large quantity of items which we believe to have been stolen were recovered and our investigation will continue into the incident.”
