Lisa Brown Vanishes Without a Trace
Scotland-born Lisa Brown, 32, disappeared from her Spanish home in Guadiaro, San Roque on November 4, 2015. She lived there with her eight-year-old son. It wasn’t until four days later that alarm bells rang when she failed to pick him up from school.
Police found signs of a violent struggle inside Lisa’s apartment. Her former boyfriend, Simon Corner, aka Dean Woods, was quickly snared in the investigation. A luxury yacht dealer, Woods fled Spain after being questioned.
From Fugitive to Arrest and Release
Woods was caught in Denmark in April 2016 and sent back to Spain, where he was imprisoned. But he was later released, only to break bail conditions in late 2017, sparking a European Arrest Warrant.
Arrested at Heathrow shortly after, hopes ran high he’d face charges over Lisa’s disappearance. Instead, the case was dropped due to “insufficient evidence.”
Family’s Hopes Dashed Again
Lisa’s family got a boost in October 2018 when Spain agreed to reopen the case against Woods. But it ended in further heartbreak—the courts decided no prosecution would happen.
While Woods dodged charges over Lisa, he was jailed for 12 years after being caught in a €10 million drugs ring.
Woods Vanishes Once More
Now, Lisa’s nightmare returns. Woods has vanished after failing to return from day release at HMP Sudbury on November 19, where he was serving his sentence.
Described as 5ft 11in, medium build, with short brown hair and a Liverpool accent, Woods’s escape has sparked outrage.
“What are they doing giving him day release when he was sentenced to 12 years two years ago?” said Lisa’s mum, Helen. “It gave us some peace thinking he was paying for his crimes, but it’s a joke. With his history of fake identities and passports, he should never have been let out.”
