Two Men Rob Woman in South Belfast – Police Hunt Suspects

Police are hunting two men suspected of robbing a woman in her 50s on Fitzroy Avenue, south Belfast. The brazen mugging happened on Monday, 2nd January, between 8:20pm and 8:30pm.

Victim Attacked Twice in Shocking Incident

Sergeant Rooney revealed the victim was first approached by the two unknown men who demanded her wallet and phone. When she crossed the road to escape, the pair followed her, with one pushing her against a wall before fleeing on foot towards Ormeau Road.

Suspects Described – Police Appeal for Info

  • Man 1: Around 30, black jacket, dark jeans, red trainers
  • Man 2: Around 40, dark hair, green jacket, grey trousers, black trainers

“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference 1658 02/01/23,” said Sergeant Rooney. “Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
