Just 45 minutes after a burglary at a Westerham home, police were hot on the heels of two suspects. Officers tracked them down following a dramatic chase that saw the crooks ditch their getaway car and flee on foot.
From Tonbridge to Westerham: The Hunt Begins
The drama kicked off at 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 24, when police were called to an attempted break-in on London Road, Tonbridge. They quickly traced a suspicious vehicle to Hartley Road in Westerham, where another burglary appeared to be in progress.
100 MPH Chase Ends With Suspects Found in Woods
Multiple police units launched a pursuit after spotting an Audi A4 tearing through the streets at speeds up to 100 mph. The Audi was eventually abandoned in nearby Chipstead. A thorough search uncovered two men, aged 39 and 19, hiding in the woods.
Arrests Made as Crime Squad Takes Over
The pair were arrested on the spot and are now in custody. The Chief Constable’s Crime Squad has launched a full investigation into the break-ins.
