Teen Jailed Over £9,000 Worth of Class A Drugs in Crawley Sting

Police Chase Ends in Major Drug Bust

An 18-year-old student was caught red-handed with a stash of drugs valued at over £9,000. Officers on patrol in Haslett Avenue, Crawley, spotted three suspicious men on 8 November 2022. When police moved in, one suspect bolted, dropping numerous packages as he darted through alleyways.

Suspect Caught with Crack Cocaine and Heroin

The runner was identified as Henry Orsini from Creasys Drive, Crawley. After his arrest, police found two mobile phones on him—one ringing non-stop. Following the thrown packages, officers uncovered around 100 wraps of suspected Class A drugs. A search of Orsini’s home revealed even larger amounts of crack cocaine and heroin, sealed in bags, wraps, and blocks.

Court Hands Down 21-Month Sentence

Orsini admitted to supplying diamorphine and crack cocaine. On 13 January at Lewes Crown Court, he was sentenced to 21 months in a young offender institution. Additional possession charges remain on file.

Detective Warns Young People About Drug Risks

“It is clear from our investigation that Orsini was heavily involved in the supply of Class A drugs in the Crawley area,” said Detective Constable Alicia Smith. “It is concerning that someone so young played such a key role in this criminality. Illegal drugs cause massive damage, and thanks to our officers’ quick actions, a substantial quantity has been seized and destroyed. I hope this sentence warns young people that drug dealing is a serious crime with real consequences.”
