A man was tragically killed this afternoon in an Oldbury house fire

At 1.30pm, the fire department dispatched West Midlands Ambulance Service to an address on Defford Drive.

The scene was attended by one ambulance, two paramedic officers, and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team.

On arrival, we discovered one patient,” a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

“Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing could be done to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
