Suspected Drug Dealer In Eastbourne Arrested

Specialist officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) seized drugs and a vehicle from a suspected drug-dealer in Eastbourne.

PC Michael Dunn and PC Christopher Storey were on patrol in an unmarked vehicle when a vehicle was flagged to them.

They saw the Renault Clio parked in Seaside at about 3.45pm on February 7, before the driver returned to the vehicle and drove away.

So the officers followed and safely stopped the vehicle in nearby Hanover Road.

Inside the vehicle a quantity of class B drugs in separate dealing bags were found and were seized.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

PC Storey said: “We received the intelligence that a vehicle was linked to drug-dealing in Eastbourne, and were able to stop it in Hanover Street.

“A search of the vehicle found drugs inside, so the driver was arrested.

“It shows our ongoing work to disrupt the supply of drugs which cause so much harm in our communities.

“Drugs suspects using vehicles to deal drugs should be warned they could be stopped at any time and have their vehicle seized.

“We continue to encourage the public to report drugs offences to Sussex Police online.”

The 29-year-old suspect has been bailed, pending further investigation.
