Tragedy in Blackburn: Woman Found Dead After Assault

Disturbing Discovery in Mill Hill

Police were called early Saturday morning at 7.55am after reports of an assault in Mill Hill the previous evening. Moments later, officers found the body of a woman at a Primrose Terrace address.

Victim Identified as Charlotte Wilcock

The woman has been named as 31-year-old Charlotte Wilcock from Blackburn. Her family are receiving support from specially-trained officers. Authorities and the community have expressed deep condolences over the heartbreaking loss.

Man Charged With Murder

A 30-year-old man from Blackburn, identified as Anthony Stinson of Queen Victoria Street, was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday evening. He is set to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Three other men, two from Blackburn aged 32 and 24, and a 31-year-old from Clitheroe, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have now been released under investigation.

Police Appeal for Information

Det Ch Insp Jill Johnston said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with Charlotte’s family, and we ask that their privacy be respected at this truly distressing and difficult time. “A call came in reporting an assault in Mill Hill, and shortly after, Charlotte’s body was found at Primrose Terrace. A man was arrested, and an investigation launched to uncover what happened. “A man has now been charged with causing Charlotte’s death, but the investigation continues. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
