Two Men Charged Over Camden Shooting That Shocked Community
The Crown Prosecution Service gave the green light on Wednesday, 15 March, to charge Tyrell La Croix, 22, from Camden, and Jordan Walters, 23, from Brent, with six counts each of Section 18 wounding with intent.
The pair made their first court appearance at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 16 March. Both were remanded in custody, set to face Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday, 12 April.
Community Shaken by Phoenix Road Shooting
Superintendent Jack Rowlands, head of Camden’s Neighbourhood Policing teams, said: “This shooting had a profound impact on our community and my thoughts today are with the victims who were injured.”
He added, “We understand and share the community’s concerns around violence and continue reassurance patrols in the area. We thank our community and partners for their support as the investigation continues.”
Police urge witnesses to come forward: “We want information or footage from anyone who has not yet spoken to us. Removing illegal firearms and those carrying them is our priority. The impact of violent crime is devastating for victims and the wider community. If you know anything, please speak up.”
Inside the Shooting Incident
Police rushed to Phoenix Road, NW1, at 1:29pm on Saturday, 14 January, after reports of a shooting. Emergency medics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance joined the scene.
Six victims were hospitalised: four women aged 48, 54, 41, and 21, plus two young girls, 11 and seven years old. Their injuries were thankfully not life-threatening, though the 48-year-old woman remains under treatment.
Additional Arrests and Court Appearances
- Alrico Nelson Martin, 19, from Kilburn, was charged on 15 March with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life and six counts of conspiracy to wound with intent. He also faces Harrow Crown Court on 12 April.
- A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on 15 January has been released on bail, due back in April as inquiries continue.
