Gun Sting in Nottingham: Suspects Nabbed, Two Converted Pistols Seized

Police stopped a Ford Fiesta on the A610 Nuthall Road in Nottingham and arrested a suspect, uncovering two converted guns and ammunition inside the car.

Tip-Off Leads to High-Tech Police Operation

Officers acted fast after intelligence revealed 29-year-old Troi Brown was carrying a gun. Earlier that day, Brown had stashed the weapons in the car boot. A police helicopter then helped track down the Fiesta on the evening of May 3, 2022.

Four Men Charged Following Armed Car Stop

  • Driver Sam Rigley, 26, was caught at the wheel and found with two pistols and 21 rounds of ammo.
  • Further investigations led to charges against Brown, Rigley, 28-year-old Emre Bulbuller, and 39-year-old Ronald Redmond.

Sentences Handed Down at Nottingham Crown Court

Brown, of Amesbury Circus, Cinderhill, and Bulbuller, from Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to multiple firearm offences. Brown was also guilty of possessing a gun while banned and was jailed for six years. Bulbuller received the same sentence.

Redmond, also of Amesbury Circus, admitted entering into a criminal property arrangement. He got eight months, already served on remand, and was released on licence.

Rigley, from Ironville, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to a criminal property arrangement and faces sentencing on 31 March 2023.

Detective Inspector Mark Adas of EMSOU said: “Dangerous weapons such as those we seized have the potential to cause immense harm to communities.”

“Guns like these can have fatal consequences, but thankfully we were able to remove them from the streets. I hope our proactive work shows our commitment to making the region safer and protecting people from harm.”
