Drug Dealer Caught Fleeing Fight in Sneinton
Chased and Tackled by Police
Twenty-year-old Olajiire Albert-Shoyombo made a desperate dash from a chaotic street fight in Shakespeare Street. But Nottingham officers were hot on his heels. They caught him in a narrow alley off Bluecoat Street and tackled him to the ground before slapping the cuffs on.
Repeat Offender with a Drug Habit
Albert-Shoyombo, from Ashfield Road, Sneinton, wasn’t new to police attention. Just three months earlier, he’d been nabbed dealing cocaine and heroin in St Ann’s. Follow-up investigations revealed he had been pushing Class A drugs from April through October 2022.
Phones and Evidence Seal the Deal
After analysing mobile phones recovered both times, cops built a rock-solid case against him. A raid on his flat uncovered more drugs, cannabis, hundreds in cash, knives, and drug gear. The phones were linked to additional criminal acts, widening the net on his drug empire.
Judge Hands Down Jail Sentence
At Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday 23 March, Albert-Shoyombo pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and cocaine. He was locked up for three years and four months in a young offenders’ institution.
Detective Constable Marc Prangnell said: “Despite previously being arrested for drug dealing, Albert-Shoyombo continued his criminal activity. Officers did an excellent job detaining him during a confusing street fight.”
“Drugs remain a scourge on our communities and putting dealers like Albert-Shoyombo behind bars remains a key priority for the force,” he added.
