Life-Saving Bleed Kits Hit Bexley Streets

New bleed control kits are now available across Bexley, giving the public the power to save lives 24/7. Whether it’s a road accident, a nasty fall, or a rare knife attack, anyone can step in before the paramedics arrive.

Easy Access and Expert Support

All kits are registered with the London Ambulance Service. If you witness an emergency, a 999 operator will guide you to the nearest kit and tell you exactly how to use it. No more fumbling around in a crisis.

Where to Find the Bleed Kits

  • Sidcup High Street’s Aspire Pharmacy
  • Bexleyheath Central Library
  • Erith College

Two more kits are on the way in North Bexley, with their locations still under wraps.

Funded to Save Lives

These five critical kits were funded by the Department of Education and the Mayor’s Office of Policing and Crime (MOPAC). MOPAC grants up to £5,000 to boroughs to boost prevention work.

“It takes an ambulance about seven minutes to reach a patient,” said Councillor Peter Craske, Cabinet Member for Places. “But traumatic bleeding can be fatal in just three minutes. These kits could be lifesavers, allowing treatment to start immediately.”

“Bexley is already a safe borough,” added Councillor Gower, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing. “By working with partners and using these kits, we’re reinforcing that safety. When seconds count, the community can step in and save lives.”
