Paedophile Grant Venamore Jailed for 16 Years
Grant Venamore has been locked up for 16 years after raping and abusing two children, including one victim who was just four years old when targeted.
Horrific Abuse Spanned 15 Years
Venamore was arrested in August 2020 following reports to Kent Police. A lengthy investigation uncovered a shocking 15-year spree of sexual offences. Despite denying all charges, the 48-year-old from London Road, croydon/" title="Croydon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Croydon was found guilty by a unanimous jury at Maidstone Crown Court of 11 counts, including multiple rapes of children.
Sentenced as Dangerous Offender
On Tuesday 18 June 2024, Judge Philip Statman branded Venamore a “dangerous offender” responsible for persistent, violent sexual abuse. He must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before parole is even considered. Upon release, Venamore faces three years of extended licence and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order to keep the public safe.

“Venamore repeatedly subjected his young victims to depraved and sickening abuse, causing incalculable damage,” said Detective Constable Tania Muller of the West Kent Child Protection Team. “It has taken enormous strength and courage for these victims to come forward. This sentence ensures Venamore no longer poses a threat to children.”
