Met Office Slaps South-East with Yellow Weather Warning
The Met Office has blasted the South-East with a yellow weather warning this weekend. Heavy rain is set to batter the region from Saturday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon, causing major disruption.
Travel Chaos Ahead
The warning covers the South and South-East of England from 5pm Wednesday until 6am Thursday. Authorities warn of spray and flooding on roads, likely to slow traffic and extend journey times. Bus and train services are expected to be hit hard, with possible delays and cancellations.
Flooding risks to homes and businesses are also flagged as a serious concern.
Downpours and Strong Winds to Roil the Region
Heavy rain will move in from south Wales and southwest England on Saturday afternoon, creeping eastwards and clearing early Sunday morning. The wettest spots will be over hills, with persistent downpours expected.
- Rainfall totals of 15-25mm are likely across much of the area.
- Some hillier areas could get soaked with 40-60mm of rain.
- Winds will roar in too, with gusts reaching 45-55 mph near hills and coasts.
Brace yourselves for a soggy, blustery weekend across the South and South-East – don’t get caught unprepared!
