Police Lock Down Mansfield Road Over Suspicious Package
Emergency services swooped on Mansfield Road, Carrington, this afternoon after reports of a suspicious package inside a home sparked a full-scale investigation.
Residents Evacuated, Roads Shut
The drama unfolded just after 1pm on 7 April, when police received the alarming call. Cordons are still firmly in place as officers sweep the scene.
- Residents from Magdala Road, Zulla Road, and Ebers Road have been temporarily evacuated.
- Mansfield Road is closed from Goose Fair roundabout to Ebers Road.
- Roads including Hucknall Road (Pelham Road to Mansfield Road) and New Street are also blocked off.
No Injuries Amid Ongoing Investigation
Thankfully, no one has been hurt. Nottinghamshire Police Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones reassured the public:
“This is still an ongoing investigation and we will endeavour to carry on providing further updates as this incident develops. Inquiries are still ongoing to fully establish what has happened, although we don’t believe there to be any threat to the wider public.
