£20,000 Reward for Info One Year After Seun McMillan’s Brutal North London Murder

It’s been a whole year since 23-year-old Seun McMillan was fatally stabbed in north London – and police are still hunting his killers. Now, a £20,000 reward is on offer for anyone who helps bring those responsible to justice.

Detectives Return to Scene to Hunt Seun’s Killer

On the evening of 1 and 2 May, detectives will be back in Cowper Gardens, N14, where Seun was attacked just after 7pm on 2 May 2017. Seun was stabbed multiple times after a group of people in cars showed up and fled immediately after the attack.

Seun’s friend rushed him to hospital, but he died shortly after arrival. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding, leading the Metropolitan Police investigation, said: “We believe Seun was targeted by someone who knew he was in the area. This was a planned and calculated attack.”

Harding added: “I’m confident the answers lie within the local community. If you know anything, ask yourself why you haven’t spoken out yet. The time to come forward is now.”

Seun’s Family Plea for Justice

Seun’s mother, Chantelle Bucknor, made a heart-wrenching appeal for information. She described her late son as the “big brother” and “a funny, loving young man” whose tragic death has left the family shattered.

“Seun was killed just 250 yards from home with a single stab wound to the heart. There is a wall of silence, but we know witnesses are out there,” she said.

“I am grieving deeply, but it’s the pain in my other children’s faces that breaks me. There is an emptiness that will never fill.”

Six Arrested But Killer Still At Large

So far, six people have been arrested. Four – aged 19 to 27 – were released with no further action. Another 27-year-old was released under investigation on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old was charged with murder, but the case was dropped by the CPS.

Police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward. You can call the incident room on 020 8721 4205, contact police via 101, or tweet @MetCC.
