Drug Gang Nabbed in Cross-Country Crack and Heroin Bust

Nathaniel Ofori, 23, from Tiverton Road, N15, and Moses Aibamwen, 28, of Avenue Road, Erith, have been slammed with hefty prison sentences for conspiring to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Ofori pleaded guilty in November 2021 and was locked up for four years and six months in December 2022. Aibamwen received four years and one month behind bars.

From London to Manchester: Police Uncover Drug Network

Police investigations revealed the drug dealers were sending out mass texts to drum up business across London and Manchester. Mobile phone data exposed their routes and customer contacts. The gang frequently travelled to push Class A drugs to a wide network.

Major Police Raid Yields Drugs and Weapons

In November 2021, GMP’s Tactical Vehicle Intervention Unit stopped a Honda Civic in Romford and arrested driver Yamoah, identified as a key drug line holder. Three warrants swooped on addresses in Manchester’s Angel Gardens and Heywood’s Promenade Street, seizing huge amounts of heroin, cocaine, a Rambo knife, and an imitation firearm.

Police Vow to Smash Drug Rings and Protect Communities

Ofori, Aibamwen, Shyngle, and El-Sindi were hauled in during a raid at Angel Gardens. PC Nick Stylianou praised the cross-force teamwork that led to the bust. He said: “This gang lived lavish lifestyles off Class A drug sales over 11 months. We hope these sentences deter anyone tempted to follow their reckless path.”

Detective Inspector Roger Smethurst added: “No matter how slick your criminal empire, police forces share intelligence to dismantle these rings. We will keep chasing every level of drug crime that exploits vulnerable communities.”
