Man Hospitalised After Brutal Gang Attack in Worksop
Chaos erupted outside a store on Gateford Road, Worksop in the early hours of Saturday after a group fight left a man with a fractured skull.
Victim Suffers Serious Head Injury
Police rushed to the scene just after 2.30am and found the victim, a man in his 30s, unconscious on the floor. He was quickly taken to hospital where doctors confirmed a fractured skull.
The victim has since been discharged and is recovering, but the attack has left the local community shaken.
Police Hunt Attackers – Appeal for Witnesses
PC Chris Putland of Nottinghamshire Police vowed to catch those responsible. He said:
“This was a nasty assault which needed immediate hospital attention. We are determined to find those responsible.
“We urge anyone who was in the area on Saturday night and saw what happened to come forward.
“Our neighbourhood officers are patrolling Worksop town centre regularly and we’re reviewing CCTV footage closely.”
“Assaults like this won’t be tolerated – whether it’s in the middle of a busy night or daytime.”
