Drug Boss ‘Tarzan’ Busted in Surrey Sting
Surrey police have smashed a major drugs ring, shutting down the notorious ‘Tarzan’ line and locking up its 24-year-old ringleader, Mason Dean.
‘Tarzan’ Drug Line Cut Off at the Source
Officers investigating Class A drug supply uncovered the ‘Tarzan’ operation last year. After months of intelligence gathering, police swooped on Dean’s home in Byfleet on 31 January, bringing the whole line crashing down.
Huge Seizure of Cocaine, MDMA & Cannabis
At Dean’s address in Oyster Lane, cops found 23.3g of cocaine, 172 MDMA pills, 3g of cannabis, and £1,400 in cash. They also seized the burner phone used to run the drug line. Messages on the device detailed large-scale drug dealing.
Dean Sentenced to Over Three Years in Jail
Dean pleaded guilty at Guildford Crown Court to six offences, including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. On 2 March, he was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars.
The cash seized was handed over to Surrey Drugs and Alcohol Care (SDAC) to help combat addiction in the community.
Police Crackdown Shows No Place to Hide for Dealers
“We work around the clock to investigate and disrupt drug supply in Surrey every day,” said PC David Oliver. “The Tarzan drugs line was identified by my team, shut down and the ring-leader behind bars in less than a year, showing that there is no place to hide for drug dealers in our county.”
