Ruthless Assault Leaves Woman Scarred

Jamie Kentsch, 41, launched a savage attack on a woman in Wellingborough on the evening of October 29 last year. He pinned her down by the neck and punched her repeatedly in the face, shattering her cheekbone and leaving her face swollen and bruised.

Kentsch Caught and Convicted

Northamptonshire Police rushed to the scene. The victim was rushed to hospital, while Kentsch was swiftly arrested. He faced charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and multiple breaches of a restraining order. On what would have been the first day of his trial, he pleaded guilty.

Victim Speaks Out in Court

During sentencing at Northampton Crown Court on April 28, the brave victim gave a chilling account of the attack. She told the court she feared for her life and described the ongoing impact of the abuse.

“Every day I look in the mirror I can see that it is disfigured, this is a constant reminder of what Jamie did to me,” she said in her victim personal statement.

Kentsch Sentenced and Banned from Contact

Kentsch, from South Wootton in King’s Lynn, was jailed for 46 months. His sentence covers the assault, restraining order breaches, and several thefts in Norfolk. He was also slapped with an indefinite restraining order banning any contact with the victim.

Police Praise Victim’s Courage

Investigating officer PC Abigail Kennedy of the Domestic Abuse Investigation Team praised the victim’s bravery. She said:

“Jamie Kentsch is a violent and dangerous bully. This wasn’t the first time he attacked the survivor. Now that he’s behind bars, she can finally start to rebuild her life. I welcome the sentence and hope it sends a clear message: we stand with victims and will support them.”
