Michael Fotis, 19, caught after brutal knifepoint robbery in park
Knife held to throat during chilling robbery
In January 2021, Michael Fotis was involved in a terrifying robbery in Riversley Park. A gang of boys threatened three youths with knives. One victim had a blade pressed to his throat, while another was stabbed in the arm with a butterknife. The thugs fled with a phone, jacket, and bag.
Police swoop and major drugs bust
Officers quickly arrested Fotis nearby after he matched the offenders’ description. Plainclothes detectives later raided a property linked to him, seizing more than £400 in cash, a ‘burner’ phone commonly used by drug dealers, cannabis, and scales.
Dangerous thug behind bars
Fotis, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to robbery, theft, possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
“Fotis is a dangerous man who thinks nothing of using threats of violence. He is also part of a drug dealing network that brings nothing but misery and violence to the streets of Nuneaton. Jail is quite clearly the best place for him.” — Detective Constable Dan Stanton, Nuneaton Proactive CID
