Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United Future In Doubt Amid Squad Discipline Issue

Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho faces uncertainty in his future with the club as he has been placed on a personal training program due to what the club has described as a “squad discipline issue.” This development comes after Sancho was dropped from the team for their recent 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, a decision attributed to his perceived poor performances in training, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

The 23-year-old winger responded to his omission on social media, expressing his feelings of being “a scapegoat for a long time.” In response, Manchester United issued a statement explaining the decision, stating that Sancho would continue his training separately from the first-team group until the squad discipline issue is resolved.

Sancho, who commanded a £73 million ($91 million) transfer fee when he joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund two years ago, has faced challenges in meeting the expectations associated with his price tag while at Old Trafford. He has made 82 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals, but hasn’t consistently held a place in the starting lineup, particularly during Ten Hag’s initial season in charge.

The absence of Sancho adds to Manchester United’s woes as they endure a challenging start to the season both on and off the field. Ten Hag’s team has suffered two defeats in their first four Premier League matches, contributing to a rocky beginning to their campaign.

Furthermore, the club is grappling with the absence of Brazilian winger Antony, who has been granted a leave of absence as he confronts allegations of domestic abuse made by his former girlfriend.
