Family Pays Tribute To Woman Killed In Crash

The family of Christine Bridson, who tragically lost her life in a road traffic collision in Hoylake, has paid tribute to her following the devastating incident. The accident occurred on Saturday, 30 September, when emergency services responded to a serious collision involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a woman at the junction of Birkenhead Road and Lee Road, just after 13.45 BST

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Christine Bridson, a 72-year-old woman, sadly passed away at the scene. The driver of the van, a 51-year-old man from the Wirral, was arrested and taken into police custody. He has since been interviewed and released under investigation.

In a statement, Christine’s family expressed their grief and remembered her as a mother, sister, aunt, and friend. They also highlighted her significant contributions as a well-respected trade unionist, providing assistance to countless individuals throughout her life. Her presence will be greatly missed.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit extended his condolences to Christine’s family, acknowledging the devastating nature of the incident. While an arrest has been made in connection with her death, he appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward with information. Specialised officers are providing support to the grieving family.
