Tragic Crash on A35 Upton Bypass Claims Life of Young Woman
A 28-year-old woman died at the scene of a shocking single-vehicle crash on the A35 Upton Bypass in Poole. Dorset Police were called just before 9pm on Friday, 3 January 2020, after a silver Vauxhall Astra veered off the westbound carriageway and slammed into a ditch near the Baker’s Arms roundabout.
Eight-Year-Old Daughter Critically Injured
Tragically, the woman’s eight-year-old daughter suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital. Her condition remains serious. Family members have been informed.
Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal
Both directions of the A35 between Holes Bay and Baker’s Arms roundabouts were closed as emergency crews attended the scene and investigators began their probe.
“Our thoughts are with their family at this very difficult time,” said Police Sergeant Sarah Jones of the traffic unit. “We are carrying out a full and thorough investigation. Anyone who was driving along this stretch at the time, or saw the Astra in action before the crash, is urged to come forward.”
