Tragic Death on A31: Woman Killed in New Forest Crash

A woman has died following a serious two-car collision on the A31 in the New Forest.

Fatal Crash at Bratley Arch

The 39-year-old driver from Stockbridge was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital after the crash on the westbound carriageway at Bratley Arch, near Stoney Cross, just after 3.25pm on Friday, January 8.

Tragically, she passed away the next day, Saturday, January 9. Her identity has not yet been formally confirmed, and her next of kin are being informed. The coroner has been notified.

How the Collision Happened

Hampshire Constabulary is investigating the crash. Police say a black Mitsubishi Mirage, driven by a 62-year-old woman from Ringwood, collided with a stationary silver Toyota MR2 in the nearside lane. The driver of the black Mitsubishi was taken to hospital but later released.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are urging anyone who saw the collision to come forward. Witnesses should contact the Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Guard.
