Shotgun Massacre in Stourbridge: Gang Raid Ends in Murder
Masked gangster Ravi Talware led a brutal attack on John Jones’ home in Caslon Crescent, Stourbridge, firing a shotgun inside the family house. The violent raid shocked the quiet neighbourhood.
Brother Stabbed Trying to Flee
During the terrifying assault, Mr Jones’ brother attempted to escape but was stabbed multiple times. Talware issued a chilling warning: “If anyone comes down the stairs, they are getting shot. If anyone rings the police, they are dead.”
Getaway Car Burned Out Nearby
After the bloody attack, the gang sped off in a getaway car that was later found torched less than two miles away on Gibbet Lane. A murder probe revealed the deadly dispute started over a mere £180 debt owed by Mr Jones to Talware.
Justice Served: Talware and Gang Found Guilty
- Talware convicted of murder, shotgun possession, carrying blades, and perverting justice
- Kevin Waldron and Scott Garrington caught guilty of the same crimes
- Three youths, aged 16 and 17, convicted of manslaughter, wounding, carrying imitation firearm and bladed weapons
A member of the public discovered the gang’s dumped weapons bag in a bin in Wolverhampton the very next morning, helping police crack the case wide open.
Det Insp Laura Harrison said: “This was an appallingly violent attack which left one man dead and another seriously injured, all over a relatively trivial sum of money. A lot of planning went into this attack and it was thanks to great detective work by officers who recovered CCTV and were able to piece together the killers’ movements that we’ve been able to get justice for Mr Jones’ family today.”
Sentencing is scheduled for June.
