Man Found Guilty of Fatal Clapham High Street Stabbing!
Justice Beckford Convicted After Bloody December Attack
A brutal stabbing on Clapham High Street has ended in justice. Twenty-three-year-old Justice Beckford has been found guilty of murdering 24-year-old Abraham Kallon in a vicious attack last December.
The shocking incident unfolded on December 9, 2022, when Abraham and a friend left a bar and were confronted by a hostile group. One assailant stabbed Abraham through a car window before fleeing the scene.
Police Crack Case Using CCTV and DNA Evidence
Detectives launched a relentless hunt, pouring over hours of CCTV footage from nearby roads. Their hard work paid off when they identified Beckford and linked him to addresses in Bexley and Herne Hill.
During a search, officers found a black jacket Beckford had worn on the night of the attack, stained with Abraham’s blood. DNA analysis of the blood on the jacket was key in securing the guilty verdict at the Old Bailey.
“We offer our condolences to Abraham’s family and friends, who have endured a difficult trial,” said Detective Sergeant Jake Good from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Command. “The CCTV footage and forensic evidence were pivotal in bringing the perpetrator to justice.”
Sentencing Awaited for Beckford
Abraham was rushed to King’s College Hospital by his friend, but tragically died soon after arrival. The post-mortem confirmed fatal stab wounds as the cause of death.
Beckford, who also faced possession of a blade or sharply pointed article charges, was convicted on November 13 and awaits sentencing at the Old Bailey on November 23. He now faces a lengthy prison term.
This verdict brings a grim end to a violent night that shook South London’s Clapham community and reminds us of the tireless work police put into solving violent crimes.
