Murder Investigation Launched as Woman’s Body Found in Hampshire House

A murder investigation is underway in Hull after a suspected stabbing incident resulted in a man’s death. Police were called to a property on Hardy Street, off Cottingham Road, at approximately 10:15 pm on Wednesday, November 15, following reports of a man suffering a stab wound.

Despite urgent medical attention, the victim succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital. In response to the incident, a 24-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently held in police custody.

The identity of the victim has been disclosed to his family, who are receiving support from specially trained officers. Detective Chief Inspector Jayne Goodens of Humberside Police, leading the investigation, assured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident between individuals known to each other and occurred inside a private residence. There is believed to be no broader risk to the public.

Increased police presence will be noticeable in the area as officers continue their investigation and engage with the community to address any concerns. The police urge anyone with relevant information, including dashcam or CCTV footage around the time of the incident, to come forward. Information can be reported to the police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 537 of November 16, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
