Brutal Brighton Rapist Sentenced to Nine Years – But He’s Still on the Run!

Fugitive Sentenced in Absentia

A 28-year-old man has been handed a hefty nine-year prison sentence for horrific sexual offences committed in Brighton. Despite fleeing the country before his trial, the jury at Hove Crown Court convicted him of rape and related charges.

Victim’s Heartbreaking Testimony

The victim, just 17 at the time, bravely spoke out in a victim impact statement. She revealed how the ordeal shattered her trust in people. She said:

“Thanks to you my whole life changed. I went from being innocent to facing the horrors of this world and no longer trusting anyone. I struggle to believe people and am constantly worrying about their true intentions.”

“I had been warned about monsters like you all my life, but I never expected you to be one of them. I was just a child.”

“I’m thankful for the support from my family, friends, the police, and especially Laura from Survivors’ Network who listened to me talk for hours about all my thoughts.”

Tough Measures to Catch the Fugitive

Alongside the prison sentence, he’s slapped with a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be registered as a sex offender for life.

Authorities have issued a Crown Prosecution Service warrant and are hunting to extradite him back to the UK. Strict border controls are ready to stop him if he tries to sneak back in.

Police Praise Victim’s Courage

Detective Constable Laura Pettitt praised the victim’s bravery, saying:

“I would like to thank this courageous young woman for reporting the crimes and sticking with the court process, even with the defendant refusing to attend trial.”

“The jury was unanimous in finding him guilty on all charges. He will be locked up where he can no longer harm anyone.”

“I hope this verdict brings some comfort to the victim and her family as they try to rebuild their lives.”

“If you or someone you know is a victim of crime, please report it online, via 101, or call 999 in emergency. You will be believed and supported.”
