Red Funnel has cancelled two key sailings this morning due to a stubborn technical fault with the Red Eagle’s forward main engine. The 9 a.m. departure from Southampton and the 10.30 a.m. Cowes sailing won’t be happening.
Passengers Left Stranded
The cross-Solent operator warned travellers earlier about delays but the issue forced them to pull the plug on these crucial journeys. Red Funnel said the cancellations are directly linked to the same engine problem.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused,” the company said, urging passengers to check for updates and alternative travel options.
