Teen joyriders and crooks caught in massive Kent police crackdown
Five teens nabbed in stolen car chase
Kent cops stepped up patrols to crack down on burglars, car thieves, and domestic abusers crossing county lines. Just after midnight on 23 November, officers caught five teenage boys driving a stolen car in Swanley after a pursuit. The vehicle, taken from Bromley, was also linked to an attempted Land Rover theft in Snodland the day before. The teens, aged 15 to 18 and from London, were arrested and bailed pending more questions.
Speeding getaway ends with knife arrest
Later that same day, Dartford officers in an unmarked car spotted a vehicle speeding from a petrol station on 1 Road. The driver and passenger tried to flee on foot but were hauled in. The car was found sporting false plates and loaded with stolen meat and booze. A hunting knife was also seized. The two men, aged 27 and 30, now face theft and possession charges and were released on bail.
Operation nets multiple arrests and vehicle seizures
- A 23-year-old man arrested for breaking a domestic abuse order and having cannabis in Dartford.
- A 27-year-old woman in Swanley suspected of drug-driving taken into custody.
- A 37-year-old man in Dartford arrested for multiple crimes including stealing a car, dangerous driving, and assaulting police.
Across three days from 22 November, Kent police issued seven traffic offence reports, recovered a stolen vehicle, and seized an abandoned car seen driving suspiciously near a Gravesham farm.
Top cop vows to keep up pressure on criminals
Detective Chief Inspector Patrick Milford from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said: “Burglars and thieves don’t care about county lines—they’re only after profit. We must track those moving through Kent to commit crimes and work with neighbouring forces to stop them.”
“This operation led to several arrests and gave us valuable intelligence for ongoing probes into serious organised crime. We’ll keep fighting for the safety of everyone in Kent.”
