Shap in Cumbria recorded a freezing -9.4°C (15.1°F) this morning, the chilliest night since mid-March. Suffolk’s Santon Downham suffered its coldest November night in seven years, dropping to -6.6°C (20.1°F).
The Met Office warns temperatures could plummet further to -12°C (10°F) in snowy Scottish glens by tomorrow night.

Retailers report a heating boom with Toolstation seeing a 323% spike in smart panel heater sales. Portable heaters soared by 202%, radiator valves rose 73%, radiators jumped 46%, and boilers climbed an impressive 115%.
