Four people have been charged with murder following the death of a man in Bishop Auckland.


Officers were called to West Lane at around 6.30pm last Wednesday (November 29) where they found a 41-year-old local man unresponsive outside of an address.
Sadly, despite medical treatment, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A postmortem examination has since revealed he died as a result of stab wounds.
Three men, aged 52, 44, and 42, and a 42-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
They have since been charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (December 4).
A 16-year-old boy has also been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody where he is being questioned by officers.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and residents may see an increased police presence in the area.
We would like to reassure residents that there is no wider risk to the public.
Any witnesses who have yet to speak to officers are asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 351 of November 29.
