Teacher Found Dead at Notting Hill Church Shocks Community
A grim discovery has shaken Notting Hill, West London. A school teacher’s body was found early Tuesday morning at St Matthew’s Church in Bayswater—the very place Pembridge Hall School had planned to stage its nativity play.
Reverend Finds Body, Play Moved in Wake of Tragedy
Reverend Will Coleridge, vicar of St Matthew’s, made the chilling find. “It was in the middle of the night, and I found the body on Tuesday morning,” he revealed. Out of respect for the victim and the community, the nativity play has now been relocated to a different venue.
Prestigious Pembridge Hall School Left Reeling
Pembridge Hall, an elite all-girls school charging £8,735 a term and famed as the sister school to Wetherby (attended by Princes William and Harry and actor Hugh Grant), is devastated. Pupils, staff, and parents are struggling to come to terms with the shocking loss.
Police Confirm Death Not Suspicious
The Metropolitan Police were called shortly before 9am on 5 December following reports of a deceased 52-year-old man. Ambulance services arrived but sadly found him already dead.
A police spokesperson said, “Next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as unexpected but early inquiries do not indicate it is suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
Community Mourns as Support Services Kick In
The tragedy has cast a sombre mood over the neighbourhood. Reverend Coleridge acknowledged the gravity of the situation: “It was grim, obviously, really grim. These things are horrible.”
Authorities from the school and church are working closely with the police and offering counselling to help pupils, staff, and families cope during this difficult time.
