Tragic Death of Talented Young Karateka at Strawberry Hill Station
The family of 21-year-old Anojan Gnaneswaran has been left shattered after he was found fatally stabbed at Strawberry Hill railway station on January 8, 2024. Discovered by police just before midnight, Anojan sadly died at the scene.
Beloved Son and Star Student
In a heart-wrenching tribute, Anojan’s family said: “Anojan was a much-loved son and brother, and we are devastated that his young life has been ended in this way. He was in his third year at university, studying accounting and finance, and he was so excited for his future.”
Anoj an was a gifted sportsman and a first-dan black belt in karate. He competed in both World and European championships, showing true talent and dedication to the sport. His family added, “We will all miss him so much.”
Arrests Made as Police Pursue Justice
The police have arrested two men, aged 19 and 21, in connection with Anojan’s death. Earlier, a 15-year-old boy and two men aged 19 and 20 were released under investigation, while a 16-year-old was granted bail.
Detective Inspector Paul Attwell, leading the investigation, offered condolences: “My thoughts are with Mr Gnaneswaran’s family and loved ones at such a difficult time.”
