Bradford Man Busted for Supplying 35 Kilos of Cocaine After High-Speed Chase
Speeding VW Fails to Stop in Dangerous Police Pursuit
Dominic Lowe, from West Royd Drive, was sentenced today at Bradford Crown Court after pleading guilty to supplying 35 kilograms of pure cocaine. The drama unfolded on October 5 when officers tried to stop a Volkswagen Golf on Moor Top Road, Bradford. Instead of pulling over, the car sped off, driving at over 70mph in a 30mph zone — on the wrong side of the road no less — and even went the wrong way around a roundabout.
Abandoned Car Leads to Massive Cocaine Haul
The stolen VW was later found abandoned on Cross Lane, Shelf, near Bradford. Police searched the vehicle and discovered a huge stash of high-purity cocaine inside. An investigation by West Yorkshire Police’s elite Programme Precision team pinpointed Lowe as the man who handed the cocaine to the driver just before the botched police chase.
Police Vow to Crack Down on Class A Drug Dealers
“Though the driver of the Golf is yet to be identified, our investigations established that Lowe played a key role in supplying the cocaine which would have been distributed across the Bradford area,” said Detective Sergeant James Gross, of Programme Precision.
“I’m pleased the sentence handed down today properly matches the gravity of his crime. Class A drugs devastate our communities. Through Programme Precision, West Yorkshire Police is determined to target the organised criminals behind this vile trade.”
