Four Charged Over Elle Edwards’ Christmas Eve Murder
Merseyside Police have charged four people linked to the brutal killing of Elle Edwards, 26, outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village, Wirral. The beautician was shot dead on Christmas Eve last year in a terrifying gang-related attack.
Skorpion Submachine Gun Fired 12 Shots
The horror unfolded just before midnight when 12 bullets were sprayed from a Skorpion submachine gun. Elle was hit fatally in the back of the head — an innocent bystander caught in a vicious gang feud. Five others were injured in the chaos.
Four Bailed Over Assisting Offender Charges
The four charged include a 42-year-old man from Wallasey, a 33-year-old woman, a 54-year-old man from Woodchurch, and a 33-year-old woman from Birkenhead. All face charges of assisting an offender. Their names remain under reporting restrictions. They’re due in Wirral Magistrates’ Court on January 15.
Gang Feud Linked To Murder as Convicted Killer Sentenced
Connor Chapman, 23, from Woodchurch, was convicted in July for Elle’s murder and handed a life sentence with at least 48 years behind bars. Mr Justice Goose slammed Chapman’s “utterly shocking” and “wicked” actions.
Thomas Waring from Barnston also received nine years for weapons offences and assisting Chapman.
Prosecutor Nigel Power KC confirmed the shooting was part of ongoing gang violence rocking Wirral in 2022.
“We thank the police for their relentless pursuit of justice,” said Tim Edwards, Elle’s father. “We hope those responsible never taste freedom again.”
