A widespread manhunt has been initiated following the escape of a convicted murderer from his “approved premises” in Peterborough. Carl Hyde, a 67-year-old serving a life sentence for a murder committed in 1988, has breached his licence conditions and is currently on the run.
Hyde’s disappearance has triggered an urgent search operation, and authorities are urging the public not to approach him directly but to provide information about his whereabouts to the police.
Carl Hyde has strong connections to Reading in Berkshire. Cambridgeshire Constabulary has issued a public advisory, stating, “The public are advised not to approach Hyde, but to contact police with information on his whereabouts.
Police called for anyone with immediate information about Carl Hyde’s location to contact the police by dialling 999. If individuals possess less time-sensitive information, they are encouraged to report it online, referencing incident number 336 of January 1.
