Tragic Ambulance Strike in Gaza Kills Six, Including Four Medics
Death Toll Rises After Ambulance Attack
Horror struck the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday when an Israeli strike hit an ambulance on the busy Salah al-Din Road, killing six people. Among the dead are four medics, confirmed the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Initially, four fatalities were reported, but two injured individuals inside the ambulance later died, raising the death toll.
International Outcry Over Attack on Medical Staff
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies slammed the strike as “unacceptable.” Its leader, Jagan Chapagain, took to social media to condemn the attack and stressed the inviolable protection of patients and healthcare workers. “They must never be targeted,” he declared.
Conflict Death Toll Continues to Mount
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry reported more casualties from an Israeli strike near a hospital in Deir al-Balah on the same day. Over three months of fighting between Hamas and Israel have claimed more than 23,350 lives – mostly civilians. The ministry also revealed the destruction of over 120 ambulances and the deaths of at least 326 healthcare workers since the war began.
Casualties Mount on Both Sides
Israel’s military has not yet commented on the ambulance incident. So far, Israel has lost roughly 1,140 people, mostly civilians, and 186 soldiers have died in Gaza. The devastating conflict continues to ravage the region as communities reel from the ongoing violence.
