Four Found Guilty of Brutal Double Murder in Ilford Gang Feud

The Metropolitan Police delivered justice after a bloody gangland attack in Ilford. Four men were convicted of double murder, attempted murder, and perverting the course of justice following a chilling gang revenge attack.

Gang Revenge Plot Leads to Deadly Shooting

Chibuike Ohanweh, 21, from Romford; Ayaanle Adan, 20, of Barking; Mahad Gouled, 22, from Enfield; and Zain Mirza, 21, of Manor Park, all denied the charges. But after a gruelling 40-hour jury deliberation, they were found guilty on every count. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Zakarie Mohamad of Kensington admitted destroying a car to cover their tracks but was cleared of the violent charges.

The attack was cold and calculated revenge for the 2019 killing of Mirza’s brother. Despite serving time in prison for drugs, Mirza mastermind the assault from behind bars, keeping his hands clean.

“He was the one who most wanted it done. His motive was revenge,” Prosecutor John Price KC revealed.

Ilford’s Gang Violence Explodes

Saydi Abu Sheikh, aka “Giddy,” led the notorious Ilford gang Drillford. The convicted men were tied to their rivals Only Manor (OM) in Newham. The two gangs had been locked in a vicious five-year turf war before the deadly shootings.

Mirza’s brother, Mohammed Usman Mirza, was murdered in 2019, triggering this violent cycle. One of the convicted killers in that case had close links to Sheikh.

Gruesome Scene and Bravery of Survivors

When police arrived at Henley Road, Ilford, the scene was one of “bloody carnage.” Two victims were dead, a third critically injured. Khalid Khalid survived despite taking six bullets.

Survivors Ali Sheikh and Zachary Abdi bravely gave vital testimony, supported by CCTV footage and DNA evidence, sealing the fate of the attackers.

Judge Mark Lucraft KC remanded the men in custody ahead of sentencing next Tuesday.
