Stalker Jailed After Ignoring Protection Order
Waldemar Czekanski terrorised his ex for two years, bombarding her with unwanted messages and turning up uninvited at her home between September 2021 and 2023.
Threats, Break-Ins and Property Damage
The 47-year-old didn’t stop there. He damaged her property, broke into her house, and even threatened to kill her.
Czekanski finally pleaded guilty to stalking his former partner in Mansfield on September 20, 2023. The court slapped him with an interim Stalking Protection Order the next day, which was made indefinite in October.
Licence Breach Leads to Quick Arrest
Despite being released on licence in November to an approved address in Hucknall, probation officers suspected Czekanski was planning to rekindle the relationship.
During a Stalking Protection Order visit in December, two police officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team found he had been repeatedly calling his ex, breaching the order. They arrested him on the spot.
Four Months Behind Bars Over Christmas
Czekanski was charged with breaching the protection order and thrown back into custody. On December 22 at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four months in jail — spending Christmas locked up.
