New CCTV Images of Clapham Attack Suspect Abdul Ezedi Released by Met Police

London, February 6, 2024 – In the ongoing investigation into the Clapham chemical attack, the Metropolitan Police have released new CCTV images of the suspect, Abdul Ezedi. The authorities are working tirelessly to locate and apprehend Ezedi, who has been missing since the incident.

The latest images show Abdul Ezedi heading towards the Victoria Embankment on Wednesday evening. Concerns are growing regarding his whereabouts and the nature of his disappearance.

Met Commander John Savell issued a stern warning to anyone harbouring or assisting Ezedi, stating that it constituted a criminal offence and that the police will take necessary actions against those involved. Additionally, a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Ezedi, originally from Afghanistan, had allegedly expressed a desire for revenge following an armed robbery in his native country, in which his sister was tragically shot dead. However, there is currently no evidence linking this event to the chemical attack in Clapham.

The investigation began when a 31-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged eight and three, were attacked with a potent corrosive substance in Clapham, South London. The victims sustained severe injuries, with the mother’s facial injuries expected to have a lasting impact on her life.

Ezedi, 35, is believed to have travelled from Newcastle to London on the day of the attack. His last known location was Caledonian Road, North London, approximately seven miles from Clapham.

Authorities are seeking any information that could assist in locating Abdul Ezedi and further understanding the motives behind this violent attack. A reward of £20,000 has been offered for information leading to his arrest.

The police urge the public to contact them immediately if they have any information about Ezedi’s whereabouts or activities related to this case. The investigation continues, and detectives are working diligently to bring the perpetrator to justice.
