In a distressing incident in Eastbourne, emergency services rushed to Friday Street shortly after midnight following reports of a hit-and-run accident involving a 16-year-old boy. The teenager was struck by a car that failed to stop, leaving him with serious injuries.

Authorities were alerted to the situation in the early hours of Saturday, prompting immediate response from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance (KSS). The young victim was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

Eastbourne Police have initiated a thorough investigation to trace the driver responsible for the incident. They are calling on the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the individual behind the wheel.

A police spokesperson provided details of the incident, stating, “Emergency services were called to Friday Street in Eastbourne shortly after midnight on Saturday to a report of a car having collided with a pedestrian. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle involved left the scene without stopping, and we are now investigating to find and hold accountable those involved.”
