Teen Hit and Hurt in Eastbourne Hit-and-Run
Emergency crews rushed to Eastbourne’s Friday Street just after midnight on Saturday following a hit-and-run that left a 16-year-old boy seriously injured. The driver sped off, leaving the teenager badly hurt at the scene.
Air Ambulance Scrambles to Scene
South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance quickly arrived to treat and airlift the boy to hospital. He remains in a serious condition as medics continue treatment.
Police Launch Hunt for Hit-and-Run Driver
Eastbourne Police have launched an urgent investigation to track down the driver responsible. A spokesperson said:
“Emergency services were called to Friday Street in Eastbourne shortly after midnight on Saturday after reports a car collided with a pedestrian. The 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle left the scene without stopping and we are determined to find those involved.”
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses can report online or call 101 quoting serial 005 of 02/03.
