Devon Man Jailed Over Terrorism Offences

A 22-year-old man from Devon has been locked up for terrorism offences following a joint probe by Counter Terrorism Policing South East and South West.

Harry Parris Sentenced at Winchester Crown Court

Harry Parris, from Wrangaton Road, Bittaford, Ivybridge, was handed two years and nine months in prison on Friday 15 March. After his jail term, he will serve an additional year on extended licence.

Guilty Plea to Terror Charges

Parris pleaded guilty to several serious offences, including:

  • Four counts of encouragement of terrorism under Section 1(2) of the Terrorism Act 2006
  • Six counts of possession of documents likely to aid terrorism, under Section 58(1)(b) of the Terrorism Act 2000

Dangerous Materials Found

The court heard Parris published extremist statements and had bomb and gun-making manuals linked to far-right ideology. These materials were deemed potentially useful for committing or preparing terrorist acts.
