Fox Family Crashes Brighton Station Commute
Commuters at Brighton railway station got more than they bargained for as a family of foxes settled under a small hut on platform eight. The mother fox and her seven cubs were spotted by staff, sparking a mix of concern and fascination among daily passengers.
Rail Operator Worried About Safety
Govia Thameslink Railway, which runs the station, voiced worries about the safety of both travellers and the fox family. A spokesperson said, “We’re concerned for the safety of our customers as well as the foxes, so we’re looking at ways to move the mother and cubs safely.”
Wildlife Meets Urban Chaos
The foxes’ presence highlights a trend of more wildlife encounters in busy city areas, raising challenges for transport operators and animal welfare groups alike.
RSPCA Steps In to Help
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has been called in to find a solution that’s safe for both animals and commuters. The plan is to carefully relocate the fox family to a safer, more suitable home where they won’t cause or face any risks.
